    Sorry friend,

You can't upgrade the windows XP to windows 8 directly.

For upgrading you should have the windows 8 in CD or in pen drive. After this you should place this in windows XP and you need to install new OS.

    +++ Steps to install windows 8 :

    1. First of all format the windows XP.

    2. Now place the windows 8 OS CD in disk drive.

    3. Now you computer will recognize the CD.

    4. Open it and press the install option.

    5. While installing the windows 8 don't touch the system means don't interrupt.

    6. Do the drive partitions here.

Restart the system after successfully installation of new windows OS.

    Thank you..............

No, You cannot upgrade the windows from XP to 8, as there is no option for upgrading it.
You can only upgrade windows 8 from windows 7 (any version).

So i request you to transfer all your data from the C: Drive and format it.
After formating the drive you can install windows 8 as normally.

    This is the only way.

    No!

You can't directly upgrade to windows 8 operating system from window xp sp2!

Some requirements you need to know,

You can only install directly from, windows xp sp3 and above like vista , windows 7

You can't install, windows 8 os directly from windows xp sp2

Make sure you have windows xp sp3 or higher to install windows 8 os on your system

    That's it over!

    =============================================

    Hi,

Yes you can upgrade to Windows 8 but before doing that, you need to see whether you have the following hardware-

    Windows-8 system requirements 64-bit (x64)
    CPU with 1 GHz
    20 GByte Hard disk space
    2 GByte RAM
    DirectX-9 graphics Card

    Windows-8 system requirements 32-bit (x86/x32)
    CPU with 1 GHz
    16 GByte Hard disk space
    1 GByte RAM
    DirectX-9 graphics Card

If you have the above requirement, then go ahead and install Windows 8!

    Bye!

    of course not

    because of the following reasons

------>you need a operating system that can be capable enough to boot windows 8 operating system

------>but in case of windows xp it can't boot windows 8 directly or in directly

------>it need some specifications to boot from windows xp those are

------>your os must be higher than windows xp sp2 that is, windows xp sp3, vista, windows 7

------>if your system is running with windows xp sp3 then you can directly install the windows 8 operating system with out any error

----->but your system must satisfy the windows 8 minimum requirements to install windows 8 os with out any issue or error

    end

Re: Can I upgrade directly from Windows XP to Windows 8?

    hi,
sorry but u cant directly upgrade from windows xp to windows 8 os.
the upgrade heirarchy is in this manner.
    windows xp->windows 7->windows 8.
    u cant skip steps.
if u want to upgrade u need to first upgrade to windows 7 n then windows 8.
actually upgrade from windows xp to windows 7 is very complicated.

so u can have a clean install of the windows8 os.instead of upgrade.
u can take a back-up of ur data to an external harddisk n then do a clean install of windows 8 os.

    good day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

3.While starting press 'Del' button and change the 'BIOS settings'.

4.Then you save the settings and again your computer will restart.

    Hello,
Sorry friend but you cannot upgrade to windows 8 from windows Xp. You need Windows 7 ultimate to upgrade to windows 8.
As for now all you can do is Custom Installation. All your previous files and folders will be formatted and a new operating system will be installed.
First of all make a backup of your files in any external hard disk.
Then You can go for windows installation. If you have windows 8 dvd then insert it and restart the installation will start automatically.
If you have image file(.iso) you can mount it in virtual drive and click on autoplay option.

    Dear friend,

    No, it is not possible.

Upgrading option is available for Windows 7 only.

If you have installed Windows 7 in your PC, then you can upgrade it to Windows 8 easily through Windows 8 Installation Disk.

However, if you are running Windows Xp now, then you can format it and then do a fresh installation of Windows 8.

In this way, Windows 8 will be installed successfully in your PC.

Yes you can upgrade to Windows8, from Windows XP without any problem.

You need to have required specifications of hardware that you must have, also the Genuine Windows8 Installer Disk.

If you have a processor with minimum 1ghz speed, 1 gb RAM, 16 gb HDD , directx 9 with WDDM, you can install Windows8,32 bit version.

Insert the DVD of Windows 8 installer in the optical drive and the rest will be interactive.

Once finished it will prompt you to remove installer and boot normally.

I don't what exactly you want but as far I have concern, up-gradation is only possible though CD.
If you want to install Windows 8, then you must have Windows 8 CD.
There is no fear to loose your data or files if you install Windows 8.
The installation process of Windows 8 will hardly take 45 mints.

    Thank you..

    Hi,

As per your question about the directly Up gradation from Windows XP to Windows 8.

This is not possible to directly upgrade, Its only upgrade from Windows 7 to Windows 8.

So, You first backed up your important data from C: drive then install Windows 8.

In the installation of Windows 8 you have required Windows 8 DVD or Installation USB drive.

Then plugin Windows 8 USB into your computer and Boot from USB.

Then follow the screen for step by step installation.

    Thanks

No, you can not say directly but yes you have the option to upgrade it.

For this just follow the steps I am providing you below:-

    1. Firstly Insert the disc and it should auto-run.
An option to upgrade Windows would be seen click on that.

    2. you will have to click the option to 'Go online and install updates now' and then click Next.

    3. Now Enter your product key and accept the licence terms.

    4. Windows 8 will then check your system for any incompatible hardware and software, and let you know if it finds anything.

    5. Once you've uninstalled anything incompatible with Windows 8 you're ready to install it.
Click the Install button and Note that you won't be able to use it while this Is happening.

    6. Now its done, Window 8 is installed.

After a few final configuration settings, you can now see the new Windows 8 Start screen.

    Hiii

you can upgrade directly from windows XP to windows 8

but the thing is that your hardware must support windows 8

the minimum requirements in which windows 8 will support is :

    Processor- 1GHz
    RAM-1GB for 32bit OS or 2GB for 64bit OS
    Harddisk-16GB for 32bit OS or 20GB for 64bit OS
    Graphics-256Mb

if this configuration satisfies then you can install windows 8

But, your Data will be lost because before installing windows 8, you need to format the drive partition

    All the best
