The factory reset took you back to the day you have purchased the Dell Laptop,
But it did what it was not supposed to do , it deactivated or damaged the drivers for Keyboard and Mouse.
You need to install drivers for both of them to solve the issue.

    Go to Start--Control Panel--system and security--keyboard--driver--update driver,
ans start--control panel--system and security--mice.....--driver--update driver, and then try the next.

    This should solve the issue.

Hi dear friend........it might be the problem of drivers.......

So, first of all press windows key+r and type devmgmt.msc in the run box and click OK

now expand KEYBOARDS and right click on standard Keyboard ....and choose UNINSTALL option and follow the instructions

after that restart the PC...... then connect the keyboard. again..........

after that automatically keyboard drivers will be installed

in the Case of mouse.... also.... go to device manager. ....and expand MIC and other pointer device option and right click on HID COMPLAINT MOUSE option ....and click on UNINSTALL option....

then restart the PC.......and connect the mouse again

    ALL THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well dear this problem is coming because you have done a factory reset and due to which all the drivers present for keyboard and mouse are missing.so you have to reinstall those drivers.
<>first of all you should go to the control panel in your windows 8 system.
<>there you should tap on the option mouse and keyboard.
<>then select the option drivers then go for the update.after the update it will start working.thank you
