Not able to add the unallocated space to C drive through Disk Management in windows 8

I am using windows 8 and it works like charm.During installation, i was thinking to install another version of windows so left some space unallocated. Now drive C(where windows 8 is installed) is showing storage space issues. It needs more space but i am not able to utilize these unallocated spaces via disk management. What should I do to fix this issue?

    Hi...................,

---> Firstly i will recommend that do not install more than one windows in drive.
---> This will create further problem to you.

** Now to locate the space in C make sure that your RAM and ROM are more than 2GB.
** Use disk clean up to locate few space.
** Use defragmentation to locate the space.
** Click on the bottom of the compress this drive when doing disk clean up.

---> Delete the unwanted application from control bar.
---> From now store the installed files in D drive only.

    Thanks

Re: Not able to add the unallocated space to C drive through Disk Management in windows 8

Utilizing unallocated space reserved for another OS can be done by creating primary partition or secondary partition or both.

To do so , go to :
    Start--Control Panel--Administrative Tools--Manage--Storage--Disk Management,
Right Click on Unallocated Space--Disk Partition and follow the guidence.

This method has risk involved as if partitioning goes wrong the whole system alongwith all installed programs so it should be applied with proper care.

A clean install of windows 8 after formatting the complete HDD and creating new partition for better utilization can be another way of managing the hard drive.

    Backup data first.

Re: Not able to add the unallocated space to C drive through Disk Management in windows 8

    Dear,

To add the allocated space to Windows 8 installation drive, use any one of the following utilities:
    1. Paragon Partition Manager
    2. EaseUS Partition Master
    3. MiniTool Partition Wizard
    4. GParted

These utilities are easy to use. With these utilities you can

    1. Allocate unallocated space to any drive,
    2. Resize any partition without reinstalling the Windows, unnecessary transferring of data, data corruption etc. with a few clicks.
    3. Merge two partitions into each other, etc.

    Thanks.

Re: Not able to add the unallocated space to C drive through Disk Management in windows 8

    Hello my dear Friend

For this you need to Extend the space on the C drive that means to Increase the Volume of the Partition

So that type of issues first thing you will need to do is Remove or Avoid the Unwanted Applications and Programs under the C drive

Then you can Try to follow the below steps to extend the volume

    >> You can try to Click on the " Start " menu

    >> There you can Tap on the "Run " option

    >> Then Type " diskmgmt.misc " and Press "Enter "

    >> Now you will find a "Disk Management " window

    >> After that you must Right click on the " C drive "

    >> It will give you the options like "Shrink Volume "

    >> There you have to Re size the Volume According to the Requirement

Finally you will try to follow the Online Instructions and thus you can see the Another partition beside of the C drive

    Then click on "Finish "

    That is all

    Good luck
