    Unable to transfer any file to the C drive where windows 8 is installed

    I am currently using windows 8 but facing a strange issue. Actually I am not able to transfer any file to the C drive. It would be important to note that C is the drive where I have installed windows 8. Whenever I tried to transfer any file to C drive, it flashed an error message “File Access Denied, You'll need to provide administrator permission to rename this file"

    may be by default u have alloted drive c only for windows installation.so therefore u might not be able to transfer any other file to drive c.the other possible reason might be that ur drive has only limited space required for windows files,that is why because of lack of space u might not be able to move any files to c drive.

    Re: Unable to transfer any file to the C drive where windows 8 is installed

    Reasons behind your issue,

    1:My be you don't have administrative privileges

    Sign out and sign in as admin

    2:May be you don't have enough space on that local disk

    DE-Fragment your local disk by using optimize disks option available in window 8 operating system

    Alternatives:

    1:Well if your computer is not allowing you to paste your files in local disk c i.e, where your windows was installed then,

    Why don't you paste those files in desktop!

    Pasting files on the desktop will consume memory from local disk c. so try this!

    Re: Unable to transfer any file to the C drive where windows 8 is installed

    Dear Friend..

    This is not the problem in Windows 8.
    It shows a confirmation message that you are moving a file in C drive and when it asked, it means the admin of C-Drive want to take your permission to move or copy the desire file from another drive to C drive.

    In that case, you just need to rename the file and move it to C-Drive and click yes on the confirmation message.
    The only thing you need to do if its access is denied that just rename the file or the folder.

    It works now.
    Thank you,,

    Re: Unable to transfer any file to the C drive where windows 8 is installed

    friend as you are facing problem to transfer file to c drive where windows 8 is installed.

    there can be the following reasons:-

    >>your disk drive dont have much available space for the file you want to copy there.disk drive is able to store only windows 8 at that time due to disk partition.

    >>you need administration permission for copying file into your drive for security reasons.this is important aspect.security is essential.so you have login as administrator and copy these file.
    or else you can change security settings in control panel to directly copy file without administrator.

    good luck....

    Re: Unable to transfer any file to the C drive where windows 8 is installed

    Hi friend it is common problem

    And here the reasons for you problem

    -->Your source drive is your operating system drive

    Operating system drive will not allow you copy files into that but it will allow folders to copy

    -->You are not the administrative

    So take administrative privileges

    -->Check your source drive capacity

    -->Also do DE-fragmentation to the hard disk for better results

    Have fun!
