Unable to turn off the TouchPad in windows 8 laptop

I have recently purchased windows 8 laptop which works fine. However, I am not happy with its Touchpad because it disturbs me a lot during typing. That's probably the reason why, I want to turn this feature off. Do you know, How to do that?

So many ways are there to do that. The simplest being an Application called "Touchpad Pal". It deactivates the Touchpad when you type. You can also disable this feature by following the below given steps:
    1. Press windows Key+X on your keyboard and click on "Device Management" option.
    2. Expand mouse and other Pointing devices.
    3. Right click on "PS/2 Compatible Mouse" option and choose "Update Driver" option. Don't allow it to update automatically. Allow it to update from the computer. Choose driver from the list on your computer.
    4. Uncheck the option which says "Show compatible hardware" and choose different option. It will disable your touchpad after a fresh restart of your computer.

1)Look for a touchpad icon in the notification area.
    2)Double-click and browse the touchpad options;
    3)disable it.

if you wont find it there

    click Start,
    Control Panel,
    Hardware and Sound.
    Under 'Devices and Printers',
click Mouse and in mouse setting get touchpad software version
and get new or update it

    IT WILL RESOLVE IT

if you are using lenovo laptop then use Fn key + F6.. it will disable touch pad.

    general settings...

Control Panel > icon view > Mouse > TouchPad [ClickPad] Settings >

CHECK "Disable internal pointing device when external USB pointing device is attached"

If you would like to be notified and see a visual cue of the disablement >

CHECK "Animated tray icon in Taskbar" >

and make sure you have your Taskbar notifications set so you can actually see the Mouse notice.

now i hope you understand the process of disabling the touchpad..

    happy to help you

Re: Unable to turn off the TouchPad in windows 8 laptop

There are several ways to deactivate the touchpad in modern laptops.
but they depend on hardware designing .

Generally, there should be a notification in the NOtification area in the Task Bar. By clicking on that icon will give you the touchpad menu from which you can disable the touchpad.

Some laptops offer option of pressing the Fn key plus 7 to deactivate the touchpad. Try that too.

Click START, in the search box type Touchpad and press Enter.
    click on the result,
From the Touchpad menu disable the touchpad.

    Try them.
